I began my real estate journey in Pretoria in 1996, the same year my twins started school—a year of new beginnings in more ways than one. What started as a career soon turned into a lifelong fascination with homes, people, and the art of presenting a property so well that buyers couldn’t resist it.

After spending decades in the real estate world, I eventually decided it was time to retire. But as it turns out, retirement and I aren’t a perfect match. It didn’t take long before boredom started knocking on the door.

One thing I knew for certain: I didn’t want to go back to the long hours and demands of being a real estate agent. But the passion for property—and the thrill of helping homes sell—never really left me.

So I found a better way.

Today, I use the knowledge and experience I gained over the years to help South African homeowners sell their properties privately. By combining clever marketing strategies with the staging techniques I refined throughout my career, I help sellers present their homes in a way that attracts serious buyers and creates real interest.

My journey in property marketing started long before online ads, landing pages, and lead funnels were even a thing.

In 1997, while working as a real estate agent, I listed what was honestly a very ordinary house. It wasn’t in a prime location, it wasn’t newly renovated, and there was nothing particularly special about the property itself.

But the owner had something most sellers didn’t.

She had an eye for presentation.

Her home was beautifully decorated, warm, and inviting. Every room felt welcoming. The furniture placement made the spaces feel bigger, the light flowed through the house, and the entire property simply felt right the moment buyers walked in.

That house sold on the very first show day for the full asking price.

That moment completely changed the way I approached property marketing.

I realised something powerful:

Buyers don’t just buy houses.
They buy how a home makes them feel.

From that day on, I couldn’t help myself. I started staging every property I listed—adjusting furniture, improving the presentation, guiding owners on how to prepare their homes for show days.

The results were remarkable.

Properties consistently sold within one month, and very often within two weeks.

But staging wasn’t the only thing that made the difference.

Over time I developed my own lead generation approach to attract serious buyers quickly. Instead of waiting for buyers to stumble across listings, I focused on creating interest and bringing buyers directly to the property.

That combination—great presentation and smart marketing—became my secret formula.

Today, after more than a decade in real estate and home staging, I use that experience in a new way.

Instead of selling homes myself, I now help South African homeowners who want to sell privately attract serious buyers through targeted property marketing and lead generation.
